John’s Pass in Madeira Beach is just west of St. Petersburg and right on the Gulf Coast. John’s Pass offers several different shops, including Florida souvenirs to crystal glassware, jewelry, and many other specialty shops. On the boardwalk at John’s Pass are several restaurants - including two really good seafood joints. It’s a bit pricey, but the food is excellent and the seafood is most definitely fresh.
John's Pass Board Walk encompasses 40,000 square feet of retail space anchored by Hooters, Bubba Gump Shrimp Company, and is under lease with the Pier Aquarium which will build out a 10,000 square foot aquarium, teaching and science exhibit. The Aquarium expects to receive over 150,000 visitors per year. There is also includes a 350 car multi-level parking garage.

Please the Senses opened on Nov. 11 and continues to grow in popularity. Owner Katie Brown says that she is an avid supporter of all things local. Most products in the store, at 15004 Madeira Way, Madeira Beach, are from local vendors.

The Florida Winery of Madeira Beach is the first winery in the state to bring home "best of class" in the honey wine category along with the "Honey Wine of the Year" trophy for its Pirate Mead from this year's Indy International Wine Competition at Purdue University in West Lafayette, Ind. It's one of the country's biggest wine competition (more than 2,400 wines from 15 countries and 40 states). The Florida Winery is in John's Pass Village, on Madeira Beach; vinoflorida.com. Amish Creamery Company Respects Heritage
Located right off the Madeira Beach Causeway, the Amish Creamery Company is one of the first sights seen upon hitting the coast. A specialty store to end all specialty stores, the Amish Creamery Company was opened by Clint Herlein five years ago in September, 2006; offering "Florida's finest Amish specialty foods and homemade ice creams."
